Sehore – ‘Ladencia’

Spanish band Sehore enamor with an era-hopping rock appeal throughout their debut album, Ladencia. A dynamic sound impresses within, emphasizing the band’s eclectic rhythmic inspirations — from tango to calypso — within a melodic rock aesthetic. Album track “Safari” caught our ears last week, and the rest of Ladencia proves similarly immersive in its hooky productions and palpable emotion.

Jangly guitar swaying and pit-pattering rhythms build with momentum on opening track “Mariposa,” developing a steady entrancement in its expressive vocal work and hazy guitar propulsions. Another success, “Timba” moves with a jumpy infectiousness in comparison to the opener, while both share lyrical themes of criticizing unjustly denied rights for the LGBTI community. Elsewhere, “Tango” struts a hypnotic art-rock bounciness as twanging guitars enter seamlessly, set within a more serious lyrical call against sexist gender violence.

A funky bass line and hastened vocal character shine on another highlight in “Superstar,” feeling wonderfully nostalgic in its throbbing bass pulses and trickling guitar accompaniments. Ladencia is a wholly satiating listening experience from Sehore, who succeed with poignant societal themes and consistently melodic rock productions.

The band also earned the Silver Medal at the Global Music Awards 2025 for the song “Pesadilla”
