Peyote Ugly – “Out of Sight”

/

Seattle-based psych-rockers Peyote Ugly invigorate on their newest single, “Out of Sight.” Jumpy guitars and moody synth reflections build with intrigue, as the “devil in the window, blocking out the sun,” lyrical foreboding commences with captivating immersion. Clamoring percussion, haunting organs, and swelling guitar textures approach the two-minute turn, shifting enjoyably into a melodic vocal enamoring shortly thereafter. A synth-laden illumination consumes at mid-point, by candle-light, and melds seamlessly within a driving rock ferocity.

The band describes this stellar track as “about the devil sitting on your shoulder — the inner voice that drives us to act in ways that we know are wrong.” It represents the second and final single from their upcoming EP, Beyond the Great Divide, out on April 18th.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
