Harrison Bergamot – “Swarm”

/

An artful pop success from Harrison Bergamot, “Swarm” compels with inventive use of melodic vocal layers and dynamic, colorful instrumentation. Bergamot describes the release as “about trauma and addiction, and relating to another on that front and fostering vulnerability, instead of isolating.”

An intriguing sound permeates throughout, starting right away as a buzzing synth pulse and wordlessly exotic-feeling vocal beauty consumes. The more pop-forward clarity emerges in the vocals thereafter, in the “work all day,” commiserations and ensuing locust-filled visions as a glimmering synth character radiates. Clever uses of vocal layers continue throughout, into the “it’s a buzzing swarm of locusts,” soaring. “Swarm” captivates in its stylishly infectious glow.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
