Evelí Ray – “Particles”

/

Barcelona-based artist Evelí Ray crafts a heady, dreamy pop introspection on new single “Particles.” The track draws inspiration from “Poem of the Atoms,” from Sufi mystic Rumi. The themes in that work, and within this striking track, convey how every particle, in its dance, is interconnected and yearning for divine oneness. These depictions of hopeful unity and interconnectedness prove particularly poignant within a modern society often beholden to materialism and technology-driven social separation.

“This release synchronizes with the Aquarian Age we enter right now,” the artist explains. “Not only sounds it futuristic and modern, but also it talks about equality of all living beings, reminding us that each life is precious and we all long for being part of something bigger than ourselves we can call home.”

A spacey synth-led resonance opens the production, bolstered by pit-pattering rhythms and swelling vocal momentum. “Maybe you finally find your home,” a lushly memorable vocal push begins, complemented by heartfelt strings into the stirring “where you belong,” punctuation. The orchestral beauty, brisk percussion, and vocal entrancement converge for a fully consuming sound — spanning moments of both serene contemplation and hastened emotion. The reassuring “where you belong,” vocal refrain reinforces the aforementioned themes within, reminding of the preciousness of each life, and the importance of feeling a sense of togetherness in this chaotic journey of life.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
