A heartfelt rendition of the renowned mantra Maha Mantra, “Hare Hare Dance” is a recent single from Ananda Xenia Shakti & Love Power the Band. The release is accompanied by a vibrant music video, shot in Vrindavan, India. The setting is apt, as it’s the home of Bhakti Yoga, which the track celebrates alongside the cosmic festival of life. Additional footage is shown from Ecstatic Dance Toronto. “I feel such awakening of love and the festival of life every time I time I dance there,” says Shakti, whose birth city is Toronto. “Hare Hare Dance” excels in melding the artist’s personal experiences and origins with the universal impact drawn from expressions of dance and celebration.
The production enamors with a lushly hypnotic pulse throughout. “Hare Krishna,” the vocals repeat with meditative qualities; the repeating mantra melds with spacey synths and pit-pattering percussion for a consistently hypnotic effect. A more whispered vocal effect appears sporadically, with an ethereal quality that melds seamlessly back into the vibrant lead. The final minute proves spaciously inviting, as the instrumentation scales back. There, a lingering synth pad complements multiple vocal layers; both the enthused lead and a reflective backing combine for powerful effect. “Hare Hare Dance” is an invitingly melodic, immersive showcase in atmosphere and harmony from Ananda Xenia Shakti & Love Power the Band.
Shakti elaborates further on the track’s inspirations:
“Bhakti Yoga changed my life. It affirmed my innate desire to sing and dance myself into Joy and Unity. It made clear to me, what my life as a Punk Singer, touring with the Clash, singing with Blondie, had really been in pursuit of: A radiant desire to break form and share more love and excitement for life within my own heart and with others! This video is very dear to my heart, I travelled far and wide to make it happen. It’s an expression of Joy and celebrating the Festival Life. Living in Joy is the ultimate change that will birth Humanity into New Earth.”
