An emotively sincere electro-pop pulse arises on Weird Wolves‘ “Turn The Light Around,” which implores with hopeful effervescence to move beyond depression and into a more radiant livelihood. “Just turn the light around,” a resonating vocal refrain exudes, within a sharply melodic blend of synthwave atmospherics and disco-inspired rhythmic ardency. The project comprises Ava Gore and Raphael Colantonio, the latter of whom is also the founder of Arkane Studios. Their games Dishonored and Prey are among their heralded successes, and Colantonio also created music for both of them.
Gore and Colantonio met through their love of video games, and the success of their first collaboration “Realization – Prey: Mooncrash (Original Game Soundtrack)” resulted in the formation of Weird Wolves shortly thereafter. They evolved from an acoustic band into embracing an electronic sound, evidenced here on the empowering and atmospheric “Turn The Light Around.”
