SENSES – “accelerate our love”

/

Warming doses of adoration compels amidst a soaring pop, shoegaze, and electro-pop melding on “accelerate our love,” a single out today from Coventry-based quartet SENSES. “We can accelerate our love,” caressing vocals enamor throughout, complemented by a range of tonal successes — from lusher keys to buzzing guitar distortion and a radiant touch of brass. Shades of The Verve show in the vocal tone and generally shimmering vibe. The track exudes high-quality songwriting, in addition to excellent production, which comes via noted producer Gavin Monaghan (Led Zeppelin, Editors, The Blinders).

“accelerate our love” marks continued success for the project, whose 2023 album Little Pictures Without Sound reached #5 on the iTunes Alternative Album Chart. The track’s climactic structural swell is enjoyable throughout, cohesively easing mellow vocals amidst trickling guitars and serene keys. A textured array of melodic production consumes at 01:50, in particular, as the instruments converge beautifully into cathartic heights — a satiating culmination of the electro, dream-pop, and shoegaze incorporations within. “accelerate our love” is a lovely, replay-inducing success from SENSES.
