Mayreh – “Hearts That Would Not Listen”

/

A post-punk bass pulse and wandering guitar entrancement delight on “Hearts That Would Not Listen,” a recent single from Mayreh. Per the project: “The song recalls hazy memories of house shows in cramped basements and summer nights gone awry. It traces the paths of two lovers who leave Baltimore on the highway driving west together, but fall apart and scatter somewhere on the road.”

Sporadic guitar twangs and moody bass enter into a title-declaring vocal suaveness, escalating thereafter into a distortion-laden intrigue at mid-point. A soaring, free-flowing guitar solo exudes a delectable chaos at the track’s conclusion, ending with a satiating fade to black. “Hearts That Would Not Listen” is an stylish, late-night rock success from Mayreh.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
