Manuok – “Sold”

/

Melodic piano and dynamic guitar additions enamor throughout “Sold,” a recent track from Manuok. The lyricism compels in its themes of emotional isolation — specifically described as “about anxiety, feeling trapped – even when surrounded by people you love.” The project represents the recording project of Scott Mercado, who plays sporadically with a variety of bands — including The Color Forty Nine, Giant Waste Of Man, Devics, Sara Lov, and beyond.

“Every moment is a gift to me,” a serene vocal presence lets out amidst glistening piano work, complemented by twangy guitar mystique; the aesthetic reminds fondly of Elliott Smith in its ethereal yet emotively impactful sound, melding folk and pop with immersive sincerity.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
