A debonair blend of rock, reggae, and pop shows on “All We Can Do,” a memorable track from Kissing The Flint that urges to hold onto hope, especially in the midst of struggle. The Glenluce, Scotland-based project is led by singer-songwriter Leah (Jett) Chynoweth-Tidy. “‘All We Can Do’ reflects on how we all have the ability and strength within ourselves to push through and soldier on, even when our days feel darkest,” she says. “When we feel like mere spectators of our own lives, standing on the outside looking in and fearing that we’re losing control over our destiny, try to remember that all is not lost.”
“What is there to do, when all hope seems lost?” Chynoweth-Tidy’s vocals let out initially, presenting a sense of despair as bouncy bass and moody guitars emanate alongside. Depictions of being at a crossroads — with “no idea what to do,” — is stirringly relatable, building melodically into an organ-laden charm with harmonious vocal layers. Within the presented tumult is a bright lingering, calling to emphasize hope and positivity — even on days where the weight of pressures seems too much. A cathartic guitar solo around the three-minute turn envelops further, leading into beckoning to just “keep on walking on,” and persevering. “All We Can Do” is a resonating success from Kissing The Flint.
