Idan Ben-Tal – “Words”

/

A hypnotic electronic success from Idan Ben-Tal, “Words” struts a continuously gripping rhythmic groove alongside lush, spacey synth additions and suave vocal samples. The Tel Aviv-based artist deftly balances subdued intrigue and infectious approachability, cohesively expanding from panting percussive minimalism into a satiating expanse with house and techno sharpness.

The bass line exudes a playfully immersive quality throughout, remaining a steady force as the percussion is bolstered by a clap-ready vigor and various electronic textures wax and wane. The latter elements arise with glimmering effectiveness as the two-minute turn approaches, intertwining dreamy pads and twinkling keys as the rhythms retain their form. The final minute incorporates warbled vocal samples, furthering the hypnotic qualities with a robotic-like effect that melds wonderful with the spacey synth qualities and enduringly meditative rhythm section. “Words” is a thoroughly enveloping production from Idan Ben-Tal.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
