Amsterdam-based artist Django Duyns shows a stylish rock and pop cohesion on “Leather Skin,” where suave vocals build enjoyably into soulful guitar complements and hazy synth shimmering. The release follows up the similarly compelling “Cottage,” which caught our ears last month. Produced by Marien Dorleijn (Moss), “Leather Skin” moves infectiously via funky guitar twangs and “tempted by fame,” lyrical intrigue. Shades of Arctic Monkeys shows enjoyably in the “skin,” central chorus. “Leather Skin” comes via the artist’s upcoming debut album, which we’re certainly anticipating.
