Deaf Echo – “Talking Around”

/

Los Angeles-based duo Deaf Echo craft an artful rock momentum on “Talking Round,” which swells from pulsing bass and vocal introspection into a second half touting a punchy, ardent rock catharsis. The project comprises Lebanese-American singer-songwriter Amir Hammoud and Mexican-American multi-instrumentalist Jesús Omar Lopez.

“Time moves slowly as I wait for your embrace,” the ghostly vocals admit in the haunting initial verses, punctuated thereafter by lonesome guitar tones. “Don’t you know?” the vocals inquire at mid-point, gearing into a heart-on-sleeve rock expanse. Admissions of “drowning in the dark,” further a sense of personal tumult — specifically, reflecting on a failed relationship and ruminating on a love that once was. “Talking Around” is an emotively impactful stunner from Deaf Echo.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
