Daniella Binyamin – “Circles”

/

“Circles” is the latest release for Swedish/Middle Eastern alt-pop artist Daniella Binyamin. This track is set to be the last release before her upcoming EP, Without breaking apart, which is set to drop in spring 2025. While her previous releases, like “Out of Fuel” and “Jungle” showcase her playful and energetic sound, “Circles” takes a more intimate approach, giving the listener an inside look of how she tries to understand herself and the world around her.

“This one is written in the same manner as I wrote songs in my teens,” Binyamin states. “Just me improvising words and melodies by my mum’s old piano. The song is about my worried side, that’s always present.”

Feelings of worry are certainly present, as lyrics like “In and out of circles lately / I don’t know what I’m running from” and “Through the lonely lows and high highs / I’ll go with you anywhere” tells the story of a seemingly complicated relationship. However, melodic piano and acoustics and a crescendoing synth add to the intimate vibe of the song, making the listener feel as though they are experiencing Binyamin’s feelings in real time with her.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
