A classic psychedelic pop appeal enamors throughout “Things May Change,” a compelling single from Cody Piper, coming via an upcoming album. “I know things may change,” his soaring vocals let out, complemented shortly thereafter by a bright trumpet solo, which takes inspiration from the classic “Penny Lane.” Harmonious, wordless backing vocals combine with a delightful bass line alongside, furthering that Beatles-esque quality. Piper showcases a knack for compelling, timeless-sounding songcraft within “Things May Change,” which has us fully anticipating his upcoming album.
“I wrote this song about dealing with pressure, both from yourself and external sources,” Piper explains. “I added a trumpet solo that was heavily inspired by the trumpet solo from Penny Lane by the Beatles.”
