blue pablo – “Anne Hathaway”

A delectably moody rumination on resisting love in an effort to avoid heartbreak, “Anne Hathaway” is a stirring new single from singer-songwriter blue pablo. They wrote the track after a night of drinking and watching the film Eileen, which stars Hathaway. “That’s what fucking scares me — falling madly in love, the heartbreak will just kill me,” blue pablo’s vocals exude during one of many atmospheric verses, capturing the introspection of contemplating whether loneliness is preferable to heartache.

Dreamy guitars trickle with a nocturnal allure, moving into a vocal recollection that spans from more spoken-word reflections into a melodically vibrant captivation. “Walking to my car just a little bit buzzed, after watching Anne Hathaway,” the vocals let out, conveying the “sweet escape,” of a dark theater.

A glimmering synth element arises thereafter, amidst a fervent vocal soaring — admitting that “maybe all I want is to be loved by someone else.” A culminating admission — “I’m better off alone,” — sends chills into the finale, where lush guitars jangle into the darkness. “Anne Hathaway” is an enveloping, heart-on-sleeve success from blue pablo.
