ok ok – “citypop fantasy”

/

Immersing with a somber yet captivating production, “citypop fantasy” is a standout new single from ok ok. The German project infuse moody guitars and escalating vocal anthemics, conveying a palpable yearning and hook-friendly arsenal fondly reminiscent of Last Dinosaurs. The “lost in the city,” refrain is especially magnetic, as is the bursting sequence of guitars that close the track out — moving dreamily amidst wordless vocal harmonies. The project describes the release as “about expecting much from online dating after moving into a big city but just ending up overwhelmed and lonely.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
