MXM Pro – “Your Fire” (feat. J. Lamotta)

//

The debut release from Charlotte-based project MXM Pro, “Your Fire” enamors with an atmospheric and infectious house/R&B intertwining. A thumping bass drum intertwines with soulful vocal reflections and nocturnal synth tones to start. “What am I supposed to do?” J. Lamotta’s smoothly melodic vocals inquire thereafter, invoking a ’90s deep house nostalgia within the hypnotic rhythmic pulses and interlacing vocal samples. The production reminds stirringly of Burial in its nighttime-set intrigue and house-based inspirations.

The “I need this,” vocal yearning ascends with especially gripping momentum, arriving to a hooky bounciness where clanging synths and ghostly vocal maneuvers intermingle with replay-tempting qualities. Lyrical depictions of insatiable desire meld with MXM Pro’s standout production for a fully resonating success. MXM Pro continues to make waves around the Triangle area, a region in North Carolina, and “Your Fire” bolsters that rising ascent.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
