Must Ruut – “Detached”

/

Passionate rock and dreamy contemplation intertwine on the riveting new track “Detached,” coming via Must Ruut. The Tallinn, Estonia-based band originally wrote the song in 2019, and it has evolved through lineup changes — bringing forth new ideas and instruments. Throughout it all, “Detached” succeeds as a melodic listening experience that artfully explores the process of “letting go of something or someone.”

“Detached” fully stirs in both serene introspection and harder-rocking fervency. “How far do you think you can make it?” the gripping vocals let out, complement by a beautiful contrast between gritty guitar distortion and lushly twinkling keys. A dreamily inviting charm shows upon the additional vocal backing’s emergence, and further propelled by the blissful piano sequence rounding the two-minute turn. The ensuing “last night,” sequence brings it all together for a satiating send-off. “Everything is not what it seems,” the vocals meld with guitars and piano there, ending with an atmospheric finality.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
