JD Kelleher – “Turn It Around”

/

A vibrant and reassuring new single from JD Kelleher, “Turn It Around” blends a soulful rock radiance with lyrical beliefs in one to begin anew and reach better days. The smooth guitars, hooky vocals, and dashes of organs also invoke a sense of city-pop nostalgia. “Turn It Around” is the first single for 2025 from the London-based LGBT Irish singer/songwriter, who drew particular success last year with the remix of their song “Dance On Ur Own 2 Feet,” which hit No. 8 in the UK Club Chart during Pride season in June. “Turn It Around” also has a remix arriving in March, from the noted 7th Heaven.

“Turn It Around” is enjoyably approachable and welcoming from the get-go. “Turn it around, I know that you can turn it around,” an encouraging vocal presence exudes, complemented by melodic guitars that drive into twinkling keys and soaring backing vocal harmonies. “I believe in you,” the warming sentiments continue, bolstered by a tender array of organs and guitars past the one-minute turn. Further lyrical references to one’s inner-fire arise into further urgings to “turn it around,” playing as an anthemic call-to-action for anyone in current tumult. The hooky, inspiring “Turn It Around” represents another success from JD Kelleher.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
