huzzy – “daydream”

/

A dreamy, textured rock immersion shows throughout huzzy‘s track “daydream,” melding lush vocal envelopments and heavy guitar layers for an invigorating sound. The project is led by Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Hanna Ashbrook and producer/guitarist Matt Allen — also joined by Jorge Elbrecht (mixing), Trey Frey (mastering, Korine), and James Barone (drums, Beach House).

Multiple vocal layers flow with steady cohesion throughout, culminating in an impactful duet in the second half as roaring guitars continue to swell. Themes of escapism, and an adventure to a warming and carefree place, play aptly within the hypnotic mix. “You could be my daydream,” the vocals let out at one point, tempting with visions of sun-soaked adventure.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
