Los Angeles-based artist Hornsbee unveils a climactic mystique on recent track “16x’s,” mixed by AIR’s Alf Briat. Orchestral flourishes and a wordless backing vocal procession glide into a stirring lead. “My haunted heart, I feel it beat,” spacious vocals convey amidst haunting organs, driving thereafter into a title-touting infectiousness as grimy synths and panting percussion intertwine. The two-minute turn is especially dazzling with its melding of spacey synths and bursting guitars. “16x’s” is an impactful, heady evolver from Hornsbee, which represents the project of Coachella Valley native Erick Eiser.
