Frances Eliza – “Nowhere”

/

Asheville-based singer/songwriter Frances Eliza chronicles the state of “in-between,” within a deteriorating relationship on the affecting “Nowhere,” a track whose blend of orchestral-laden folk and chilled-out pop makes for an immersive listening experience. “The lyrics of the song evoke the aching sentiment of a romantic relationship that is slowly but surely unraveling, and captures the dark weight of that fading love,” Frances Eliza explains.

Shades of Weyes Blood show enjoyably in the haunting vocals and climactic swell, marked by the “I know that you are scared of losing me,” proclamation as buzzing guitars ease back into gorgeous strings. “Nowhere” is a rousing piece of high-quality songwriting from Frances Eliza.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
