Fleeting Colours – “Stay”

/

The third single from Montreal-based shoegaze band Fleeting Colours, “Stay” grips in its textured guitar tones and hazy vocal layers. Both moments of lushly progressing intrigue and bursting gauziness stir, particularly around the two-minute turn — where the delicate dual-vocal immersion melds seamlessly into warming guitar distortion. The track becomes embraced thereafter in that comforting guitar fuzz, fading out with satiating vigor. Recorded and produced by the band’s own Seamus Hickey — who also sings, plays guitar, and serves as the studio drummer — “Stay” kickstarts what should be a big 2025 for Fleeting Colours.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Dream-Pop.
