Caleb L’Etoile – “MARIGOLD, YOUR HAIR IS ON FIRE”

/

Virginia-based artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Caleb L’Etoile immerses with his latest track “MARIGOLD, YOUR HAIR IS ON FIRE.” A spaciously emotive plea opens, venturing into realms of introspective folk, clanging alt-pop, and fuzzy sample-laden intrigue. The production is dynamic and memorable, from the “was born in this country,” auto-biographical accounts into the concluding historical samples, set amidst a haunting backing vocal resonance. A love for one’s country is conveyed, while also poignantly expressing concern for present tumult.

The track comes via a new project from L’Etoile, entitled I Dreamt I Lay Her Body in the Ground; “MARIGOLD, YOUR HAIR IS ON FIRE” is the first release from it.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
