Brendemere – “Birds of Distinction”

“Birds of Distinction” is a rousing new single from Tucson, AR-based act Brendemere. Jangling guitars and frolicking woodwinds kickstart a quaint beginning, which quickly swells into a grandiose dose of orchestral rock ardency. “I was falling for your eyes,” smitten vocal declarations announce as heartfelt strings pair with resonating electric guitars. The sweeping musical backdrop and lyrical adorations seem to echo the feeling of new love, audibly gripping in its sincere display of emotion.

Led by musician Christopher Pennison, Brendemere captivate throughout their self-titled debut album, from which “Birds of Distinction” is one of many highlights. “This song, like much of the album, is a reflection of a journey—both personal and musical,” Pennison says. “It’s about finding clarity in a world that often feels chaotic and uncertain.”

“Don’t trample your verses, just say what you mean,” a particularly triumphant vocal sequence begins, beckoning into a soaring guitar solo past the three-minute turn. Themes of honesty and communication pair with portrayals of love for a moving overall track. The ensuing finale satiates in its outpouring of vocal emotion and stirring guitar work. “Birds of Distinction” is a standout showing from Brendemere.
