Frank Richman – “99 Fire”

A recent single from Amsterdam-based artist Frank Richman, “99 Fire” is a soulful, feel-good success. Lyrical salutations establish the setting as a “beautiful day,” — beckoning to “take it easy,” and let the music play. A grooving vibrancy is wonderfully conveyed, propelled by brass-y invigoration, soulful vocal charisma, and steady guitar pulses.

Bright organs give way to a suavely intoxicating saxophone solo as the two-minute turn approaches, culminating in jazzy percussive flair and “you don’t have to work tomorrow,” vocal reassurances. “99 Fire” firmly exudes a sunshine-filled appeal, fit for bustling days and nights where work/obligations are in the rearview mirror.

The release is accompanied by a fun music video, above, featuring bananas playing guitars and saxophones — and all-around having a good time. “99 Fire” is a vibrantly infectious success from Frank Richman, who is also releasing another track and video, “All the Way Up,” tomorrow, on January 10th. We’re certainly excited for it!

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
