A new single from NYC-based band Energy Whores, “Bunker Man” invokes themes of futuristic-minded paranoia amidst an eclectic synth-forward arsenal. A dystopic soundscape presents via the mixture of lush contemplation and intensifying synth passion, thematically pushing to “dance and enjoy your life now while you still can,” as the world drifts into a darker future driven by a frequent lack of empathy.

“Bunker Man” unfolds with a dynamic prowess, immersing across both electro-pop vigor and serenely memorable soundscapes. Whirring, energetic synth arps meld with a pulsing bass and ominous backing pad to craft an enticing introduction. A calmer atmospheric pull shows thereafter, as the lushly gripping “no reason for right and wrong,” dreaminess takes hold. “You’re only purpose is to stay alive,” the vocals push, emphasizing the “stay alive,” part with compelling repetition as shoot-y synth tones settle into a feeling of futuristic unease as the memorable track concludes.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Electronic.
