Drew Danburry – “Love”

/

Consuming in both peppy guitar jangles and twangy introspection, “Love” is a recent track from Drew Danburry. Also known for fronting Baltimore-based band Icarus Phoenix, Danburry’s knack for heartfelt songwriting continues here and throughout his newly released Bird Songs, described as “a children’s story, an EP, a cassette with audio narration and songs.” The EP, streaming below, was crafted alongside Ian Aeillo (Bright Eyes, Cursive, Neva Dinova), author Grant Olsen, artist Rowan North, and audio technician Jeramy Parker.

“Love” serves as the EP’s second track, enamoring with its blend of brisk guitars, woodwinds, and brassy warmness into the illuminated mid-point. Lyrical explorations excel in themes of love, vulnerability, and the warmth someone feels from being in love, even amidst external coldness. “Love” is another resonating output from Danburry.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
