First catching our ears in 2020 with their debut album Flagship, Continua continue to impress with invigorating rockers and introspective balladry alike — showcased enjoyably across three recent singles in “Underrated,” “The Beauty of Letting Go,” and “Heaven is Waiting.”
“Underrated” unveils an ardent rock-forward procession, lyrically referencing victory and defeat within a clap-laden percussive spirit. “Their victory today,” the vocals ascend amidst melodic organs, excelling into a title-touting passion; the production succeeds thoroughly, reminding of “We Will Rock You” initially and then expanding into a unique fervor. “The Beauty of Letting Go” preceded that effort, and enamors with a darker rock embrace. Heavy guitars and moody synths intertwine with invigoration into the “nothing you can say,” outpouring, with shades of A Perfect Circle.
The most recently released amongst the trio of songs, “Heaven is Waiting” exudes a moody, satiating build — venturing from solemn piano-led intrigue into roaring guitars and soaring vocals. The production stirs within “themes of transcendence, redemption, and spiritual awakening,” while imagery of fading light and angels reinforce that sense of urgency. These three track firmly showcase Continua’s engaging songwriting and compelling range, from enveloping rockers to haunting balladry.
