Automatic Candy – “A Tall Vent”

/

Brooklyn-based band Automatic Candy reveal a gripping instrumental rock immersion on new track “A Tall Vent,” coming via their upcoming album, Amuse Bouche. An eclectic array of tones from guitarist Kirk Schoenherr enthrall within, as does Ari Folman-Cohen’s bass work — bolstered by an effect processer that furthers its atmospheric depth, crafted alongside engineer and bassist Lorenzo Wolff. Multi-instrumentalist Rob Heath rounds out the talented trio, who are all veteran members of the indie rock, jazz, and world/experimental scenes in NYC.

The track’s introduction builds with a climactic yet meditative pull. Buzzing tones and playful percussive steadiness arise into a bouncy bass pulse, all while a shimmering guitar radiance bursts into an anthemic proclamation. The sporadic doses of debonair guitar twangs never stop in their intensifying. By mid-point, a bluesy array of bendy guitars ooze with charisma; the rhythm section maintains a constant entrancement throughout, giving way to the emphasis of dynamic guitar tones and erupting satiation. “A Tall Vent” is a riveting showcase in ardent guitar-driven instrumental rock from Automatic Candy.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
