Valaura – “Running in Circles”

/

Detroit-based band Valaura impresses on their new single “Running in Circles.” The production emits an evolving rock appeal whilst thematically capturing the pressures apparent in today’s society, ripe with technology and social media influence. The swell from introspective, lusher guitar work into more ardent outpouring plays with enjoyable momentum, emphasizing the act’s knack for dynamic structures and influences — deriving from hard rock, jazz, pop, and blues inspirations.

“Running in Circles” builds with compelling and emotion, arriving into a cathartic sense of realization as the instrumentation and vocals swelter. Solemn piano pulses drive into debonair guitar twangs and a compelling vocal lead, escalating into the “playing a game you will not win,” hook; this section dazzles with heavy guitar distortion and prancing piano intertwining. The lyrical perspectives of daily struggles, and an ensuing feeling of helplessness, combines with a hard-rocking vigor and emotive vocal enthrallment for a memorable single from Valaura.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
