The Perfect Storm – “Magic Feeling”

/

Albany-based band The Perfect Storm capture the power of life’s special moments on “Magic Feeling,” set within a twangy rock and pop intertwining. “‘Magic Feeling’ is about those moments of connection and wonder that make life extraordinary,” guitarist/vocalist James Krakat explains. “We wanted to capture that euphoria and share it in a way that feels timeless and alive.” The track releases ahead of the band’s upcoming album Maiden Voyage, scheduled to release in early 2025 via MTS Records/Virgin/Universal.

“Enjoying the summer,” lyrical sentiments enamor alongside twanging guitars to begin. “Oh, that magic feeling,” the vocals continue to revel in a blissful moment — before remarking that “it’s gone,” with a sense of melancholy. The “leaves start to change color,” continues that reflective quality, pondering on time’s passing in the context of one’s greatest moments in life — as they become smaller in the rearview mirror. But then, even better times arise — and we feel anew again. The thematic prowess reminds fondly of The Replacements and their grip on youth’s triumphs and growths. “Those were special days,” the vocals pour out during an invigorating bridge, leading into a fully sating finale.
