Synecdoche Montauk – “From The Beginning”

//

Showcasing a beautifully atmospheric blend of serene folk and starry-eyed electronic textures, “From The Beginning” is an enveloping new single from Synecdoche Montauk, the solo, self-produced project of London-based, Moscow-born Savva Rozanov. Translating from “Все сначала'” to “From the Beginning,” the track stirs in its melodic unfolding and thematic hold — referencing renewal following change. The release is followed by a performance at Karmakoma in Belgrade on February 8th, 2025.

A comforting intertwining of twinkling keys and tender acoustics begin the track, as wordless vocal harmonizing eases in alongside. Contemplative vocal layers, mingling higher and lower tones, escalates seamlessly into glistening piano; a sense of momentum is palpable as the vocals swell. A spacey synth resonance haunts amidst heartrending vocals past the two-minute turn, marking an especially captivating sequence as powerful, gorgeous vocal work drives into a lovely conclusion. Synecdoche Montauk thoroughly succeeds on this emotionally gripping track.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
