Sentir – “Hold Me”

/

A rumination on memories and enduring connection, “Hold Me” is a stirring new track from Sentir. The artist — raised in Memphis, Tennessee and presently based in France — draws from deeply personal experiences of loss and what remains thereafter. Sentir explains: “My grandfather passed away 1 year ago. I wrote this song on the 1 year anniversary for my grandmother to tell a story about their life together and how she feels now.”

Meditative guitar strums and understated, twanging adornments lead into the “I think I really, really love you,” vocal affections. “What if we get married in a few months?” adoring lyrics escalate into the fervent “now that you’re gone,” yearning — showing a commanding swelling of emotions, with a feeling of being left behind in the dust following that initial infatuation — “I just want you to hold me.” “Hold Me” is a heart-on-sleeve success from Sentir.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
