Merry Cherry Bomb – “Fake Nudes”

/

A throwback rock and pop enthrallment impresses on “Fake Nudes,” a new track from Boston-based artist Merry Cherry Bomb. Recently signed to Mint 400 Records, the project of Allie Gardner excels with a sound that merges psych-rock passion with approachable pop tendencies that swirl Motown, ’60s baroque pop, and bedroom pop. “Fake Nudes” releases ahead of the SPRING EP, out on January 17th.

Steady percussion and a bass-y reverberation complements the initial vocal drive, escalating steadily with emotion as soaring and funky guitar lines alike inject seamlessly. A chilling, soaring title-touting vocal punch arrives thereafter, as the beckoning for “one more hour,” furthers the enjoyably stylish qualities. Fondly reminding of early Sparks in its eclectic rock passion, “Fake Nudes” is an enveloping success from Merry Cherry Bomb.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
