Spherical – “Lucid Dreamer”

/

Melding lushness and danceable rhythms with seamless cohesion, “Lucid Dreamer” is a catching new track from Spherical, an artist based in Phoenix, Arizona. Glistening piano and galloping, escalating rhythms pair with a melodic vocal presence, with whirring and sporadic synth incorporations adding lovely momentum. Spherical describes the release as “about my life after dark,” continuing: “I come from a long line of dreamers and this song is inspired by my mother who studied dreams at the Yungian institute and taught me everything.”

Pit-pattering percussion arrives enticingly following a mixture of glimmering piano and dreamer-referencing vocal elongation. More fragmented vocal snippets are artfully embedded as the more danceable percussive elements begin to envelop. Ghostly vocals drive into the final minute, which fully consumes in its serene piano-set finale. The production aptly conveys an introspective and nocturnal spirit, emitting an atmosphere befitting of a track that takes inspirations from dreams and nighttime contemplation.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Rock. Stream the playlist below:
