Raphael Davison – “Time Takes Time”

/

Jangly ruminations compel throughout “Time Takes Time,” an introspective winner of a track from Raphael Davison, an artist emerging from the Greenwich Village music scene. “The world is moving too fast to see things clearly,” the vocals lament during the ascending chorus, culminating in a title-touting remarking. The quainter, twangy verses shift seamlessly into a slight soaring thereafter, conjuring shades of Squeeze in its harmonious, hook-friendly sound. Also drawing from Brit-pop, Badfinger, and The Beatles, “Time Takes Time” is a melodic success from Raphael Davison.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
