Ox Hunt – “Gaps”

/

Casting a ghostly spell with chilly vocals and trickling guitar momentum, “Gaps” is a moving new track from Ox Hunt, a project comprising Sky Xue and Navzad Dabu. Produced by Grammy-nominated producer Scott Thomas Robinson and a part of their riveting new album Joy, “Gaps” excels in its emotional and atmospheric escalation — reminding fondly of Wild Beasts in its haunting aesthetic.

“Let’s pick up the bill and go, I still feel hungry, oh well,” the vocals stir with a subsequently yearning drive. A spine-tingling quality emanates from the whispered vocals and crawling guitars that intertwine, building into a compelling second half with a spirited vocal rise amidst more evident rhythmic undercurrents. “Gaps in my mind, funny as it seems,” the vocals let out there, thereafter concluding in a vocally expressive finale that fully satiates.
