Judas Goat & the Bellwether – “Ghosts in the Sand”

/

“Ghosts in the Sand” is a chilling folk success from Judas Goat & the Bellwether, a duo from Frome, England comprising multi-instrumentalist Pete Vincent and singer/songwriter Sara Vian. The track represents their second single, following last year’s acclaimed “There is Always a Dawn.” Purgatory is a central theme on the track, exploring the space between life and afterlife with artful, delectably eerie folk accompaniments.

“On a moonlit night, where the sea meets the land,” the vocals establish a riveting setting, establishing a narrative concerning “lost souls,” and “legends of the past.” The mystique is further carried by a trickling guitar drive, resonating into the “dancing in the night,” conveying of an ethereal yet haunting vision. Depictions of ghosts dancing in nocturne’s embrace envelop within the riveting vocal presence and steady guitar trickling. “Ghosts in the Sand” is a resonating folk success from Judas Goat & the Bellwether.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Folk. Stream the playlist below:
