Joshua Woo – “Cut Me Loose”

/

An atmospheric delight from Joshua Woo, “Cut Me Loose” compels in its melding of piano and guitars, also dazzling with the additional vocals of Avo Winter. The “come on, cut me loose,” refrain plays with an invigorating catharsis, pleading to “touch the sky,” and break through limitations.

Woo originally wrote the track in 2020, intiially intended as a “comfort song,” and its title-touting refrain eventually became like a mantra, as the pandemic era intensified. The track is a stirring success from Woo, impressing in the past with tracks like “Someone’s Star” and “Wings.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
