In VideColour – “Those Tired Legs”

/

Swelling from lush synth contemplation into a hook-filled rock passion, “Those Tired Legs” is a fantastic new single from In VideColour. The Barnsley, England-based project helmed by multi-instrumentalist Sam Auckland enamors in its mixture of dreamy synths, punchy guitars, and a second-half doses of psychedelic splendor — led there by a stylophone synthesizer solo. “Those Tired Legs” is a clear winner from the act, describing the release as “very much themed around an external perspective on lifestyle choices and interpersonal connections.”

“If you thought I would forget about and not talk about it,” vocals begin amidst sporadic guitars and a spacey synth underlying. “Then that’s your mistake,” they continue, fondly reminiscent of Unknown Mortal Orchestra in its climactic tonal unveiling. Gorgeous synth effervescence bolsters the intriguing soundscape at the one-minute turn, then traversing into crunchy guitars and a spirited vocal vigor; the brisk escalation here from lushness into an anthemic rock spell plays with a dynamically captivating charm. “Those Tired Legs” is a replay-inducing stirrer from In VideColour.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
