Florent Lelong – “ORION”

//

A spacious, electronic ambient single from Paris-based artist Florent Lelong, “ORION” stirs in its balance of chilled-out bliss and climactic allure. Starry-eyed synth illumination builds into a pulsing rhythmic presence, culminating by mid-point into a triumphant tonal blaring that melds seamlessly with bass-y ruminations. The single, which is described as “inspired by life’s euphoric and optimistic moments,” comes via the artist’s upcoming album, CONSTELLATION.

Florent Lelong showcases with “ORION” a clear knack for cinematic-level soundscapes, especially fit for lofty sci-fi adventures into the deep reaches of space. There’s an introspective intrigue in the general structural development, from the bass drum injections to the gradual escalation of synth tones. A combination of synth-pop and ambient charm emanates throughout, and now we’re certainly anticipating the upcoming Constellations — which seems likely to succeed in being a riveting, soundscape-rich listening experience.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Obscure Ambient. Stream the playlist below:
