Caleb L’Etoile – “Midnight in the Garden”

Continue the Halloween spirit throughout the weekend with the I’m Always Haunted EP, a release from Caleb L’Etoile that showcases the Virginia-based artist’s tendency for hooky, dynamic productions — here taking inspiration directly from “the spooky season.” L’Etoile caught our ears with a couple tracks in September, and this continues an impressive string of releases, with more ahead.

“This song in particular is a retelling of the Adam and Eve story, removing god from the narrative,” L’Etoile explains. Peppy percussive and artful lyrical prowess — “she came from the earth,” — combine with enthused vocals and intensifying synth-touched radiance. The “howling at the moon,” fervency continues, with 01:20 invigorating with the soaring vocal inflection and synth-laden charms there. “Midnight in the Garden” is amongst the EP’s numerous highlights.
