Producer and sound designer 80% Cacao impresses with a couple recent singles in “flow state” and “right here.” Downtempo electronic inspirations combine with ethereal vocal samples and atmospheric charm on these tracks and throughout the artist’s new album, it was like floating.
“flow state” embraces the nocturnal realm in its blissful synth tones and chilly vocal implementations. The hypnotic drive ventures into a string-laden mystique, then bolstered by a resonating percussive trickling across the final minute. Meanwhile, “right here” maintains a lushly absorbing sound, revolving around a reassuring “I’ll be right here,” refrain amidst tender live guitar and serene synths. We’re certainly anticipating 80% Cacao’s forthcoming album, after hearing these two standouts.
