Viveen – “Should’ve Been You”

/

Disco, EDM, and soul intertwine with seamless cohesion on “Should’ve Been You,” an infectious new single from London-based artist Viveen. The artist has seen ample success with her charismatic vocal work and keenly melodic sense, particularly whilst with the project N-Trance — selling over five million records throughout Europe, in addition to multiple top ten hits. “Should’ve Been You” is amongst the successes on Viveen’s fantastic new EP Four to the Floor, created with producers Greg Stainer (Hollaphonic), Rob Yeo, and songwriter Alan Glass.

“Don’t recognize where I am at all,” Viveen’s vocals commence with introspective qualities. These vulnerable admissions, at feeling lost, meld with a funky rhythmic pulse and clanging piano drive — injecting pop and nu-disco charm within the riveting production. The title-touting repetition plays with vibrant, replay-inducing qualities — cohesively intermingling within Viveen’s soulful lead. “I’m the biggest fool around, because I didn’t know what I had at all,” furthers the vulnerable captivation, referring to “echoes in my memories,” and their enduring impact. “Should’ve Been You” combines gripping, personal lyricism with a fantastic, contagious production — making for a resonating showcase in savvy songwriting and production.
