Strange Familia – “Wild Juice in the Honey Jar”

/

A melodic, funky charisma shows on “Wild Juice in the Honey Jar,” a new single from Strange Familia. The six-piece, which formed in Salt Lake City, describe the release as “about escape and self discovery.” The vocal pleas — “I ain’t had enough, could you turn me up?” — compel amidst brass-y exuberance and debonair guitar drives. A spacious, psychedelic bridge stirs in the approach to the final minute, concluding with a final blast of “free-wheeling,” energy.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
