Rocky Bottom – “Scary Movies”

/

Enjoyable in its range between twangy rock comforts and eerie October-set intrigue, “Scary Movies” is a recent track from Rocky Bottom. The project is led by singer/songwriter Alex Hernandez, based in Nashville following a move from New Jersey. He describes the track as a “love letter to horror movies and how they can be compared to everyday life.”

“Just like scary movies, it’s fun if it ain’t you,” his melodic vocals let out during the central chorus, conjuring a warming rock reassurance into bursting ardency past the two-minute turn. “Scary Movies” is an enjoyably approachable charmer, impressing in both the aforementioned hook and the chilly piano-set builds that lead there.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
