Plastic Teardrops – “We Got Time”

/

Presenting an absorbing, atmospheric trip-hop nostalgia, “We Got Time” is an impactful new single from Plastic Teardrops. The Barcelona-based project of producer and multi-instrumentalist Ramon Arnella stirs with a mixture of organic and electronic components within, fusing guitars and synths into a second half that shines in its use of strings. Gripping vocals play alongside with touching lyricism, expanding on the human experience and the element of finite time.

“Tell me a secret,” a lush vocal mystique lets out, encouraging to “start from the beginning,” as dreamy guitars complement the hypnotic intrigue. The introspective lyricism stirs, referring to chapters in one’s life that bring about natural changes and bright moments — and also an emotional response to “when it’s gone.” A title-touting refrain especially invigorates as an eerie synth intertwines with the steady guitars, pairing for a nocturnal atmospheric lingering. The entry of heartrending strings in the second half continues the magnetic qualities, concluding a fantastic display in atmosphere and emotional songwriting from Plastic Teardrops.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
