No Alarms – “When We Were Old”

/

Austin-based collective No Alarms meld spacey synths, glistening guitars, and emotively melodic vocals for a memorable sound on new single “When We Were Old.” References to “a postcard from the future,” lyrically prompt visions of change, set aptly amidst expanding instrumentation that simmers from bass-y momentum to atmospheric guitar/synth interplay. The title-touting hook arrives thereafter, pairing glistening guitars and lush backing vocals alongside the magnetic lead. “When We Were Old” marks a thorough, replay-inducing success from No Alarms.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
